To all our customers, we are only trying to help you to make your own decision when it comes time to purchase a diamond. There is a lot of information out on the internet and you have to be careful what you read, not everybody knows what they are talking about or is giving unbiased advice.. What we are saying is MAKE YOUR OWN DECISION.
Here is a great example why you cannot only follow a certificate and the percentages listed. To the right in figure A is what a good cut diamond should be. There is a lot of leeway in the numbers and 1 or 2% is nothing that anyone can notice in a year of staring at a diamond. Figure b is 2 round brilliant cut diamonds pictured at a normal view, from a few inches away. At this view they both look very nice and you cannot tell the difference between either stone they are both brilliant and nice. Figure c is the same diamonds at 6x magnification, now you can see there is a difference in the 2. However, both have just about the same exact table and depth. The table is 58% and the depth is 61%. Sounds great right? Now look at figure d, these 2 stones from the side. One looks like it is poorly cut and uneven from the side view. Even though they both are supposed to be “ideal” cut in the table and depth, would you buy the stone on the right? .
